An exciting opportunity to join a leading North American supplier of automotive components and solutions as a Tool and Die Maker with a company that offers educational advancement opportunities, growth potential, career stability, and excellent benefits. The Tool and Die Maker is responsible for building or repairing all types, sizes, and shapes of tools, dies, fixtures, and jigs.

Responsibilities:

  • Adheres to all safety guidelines - wear safety equipment, ensure environment is safe and free of hazards/clutter, clean and organize area
  • Read and interpret blueprints and instructions
  • Perform preventative maintenance, troubleshooting as necessary
  • Plan the setup and operation of all types of machine shop tools
  • Weld repair and heat treatment of different materials
  • Fit and assemble jigs, fixtures, tools, and dies
  • Sets up, runs off, and tests dies to produce a product to specifications
  • Tear down, repair, and reassemble tooling on the bench or in the press as required
  • Process hourly/daily paperwork in MLS/EAM as required

Qualifications:

  • Completion of formal apprenticeship program with journeyman card or equivalent to 8 years experience or willingness to do an apprentice program.
  • Must maintain valid forklift and overhead crane operator's card
  • Excellent problem solving/troubleshooting skills such as 8D and 5 Whys
  • Incredible attendance record and proven punctuality
  • Ability to handle physical demands of the job
