Job Description
Field Equipment Service Technician performs diagnosis, trouble shooting, and repairs on punching, binding, cutting, laminating and other electric equipment on premises of corporate customers, performs repairs in house on our equipment in our shop, and provides advice to other Techs dispatched on service calls. The successful candidate should be able to diagnose problems at the PC board level, have strong electrical repair skills, be able to read schematics, and have strong mechanical skills. Hours are 8:30 am to 5:00 pm Monday through Friday. FT & PT day shifts available between those hours. Compensation is $25-$35/hour. This job is located in Jersey City, NJ and requires reporting in daily to this location. Travel is required frequently in NY, NJ, and CT.

Duties
  • Diagnose cause of equipment malfunctions and make repairs on clients premises;
  • Installs and trains on equipment sold to companies;
  • Communicates with manager and office personnel to obtain needed parts;
  • Communicates with client to explain diagnosis and prevent recurrence;
  • Documents service and installation actions by completing service tickets, reports, logs, and records
  • Performs repairs needed to in house equipment

Qualifications
  • Must have 5+ years of experience as Service Technician performing this or very similar work
  • Strong electrical trouble shooting skills
  • Must be able to read electric meter and equipment schematics
  • Must have strong mechanical skills developed as a Service Technician
  • Associates in Electrical, Electronic, or related field
  • Must have good communication skills as you will be discussing issues directly with corporate clients as a Service Technician
  • Must own your own tools
  • Must be able to work independently with little to no guidance after receiving training
  • Physical demands of this job include constant standing, bending, kneeling, crouching, using hands and fingers, and moving up to 50 lbs
