SCHEDULE: Tuesday-Friday 9:00am-6:00pm, Saturday 7:00am-12:00pm


SUMMARY

Under the direction of the Brokerage Manager, assist in managing all aspects of daily inbound and outbound brokerage operations of the Masser Family of Companies. Tasks include communicating, negotiating, scheduling, entering, tracking, and paying for freight that is being hauled on equipment not owned by Sterman Masser Family of Companies.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintain and champion our service commitment to our customers (100% on time in full)
  • Answer all cold calls from brokers into the organization.
  • Identifying and vetting prospective carriers to build a pipeline of service providers.
  • Perform freight services according to company and government regulations.
  • Plan and coordinate pick-up and delivery schedules.
  • Work with Shippers, Carriers and Dispatchers to manage their schedules.
  • Track and report shipment status to customers.
  • Maintain accurate carrier files (contracts and insurance).
  • Resolve freight discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Maintain positive and productive relationships with customers.
  • Work closely with MLS, Procurement, Shipping & Receiving to meet internal customer expectations.
  • Create necessary Rate Confirmations and Bills of Lading
  • Ensure that freight paperwork is completed and approved before transporting.
  • Monitoring the progress of shipments to ensure product arrives promptly and undamaged.
  • Pay MLB customers for transportation services in a timely manner.
  • Handle all Accounts Payable functions for the company.
  • Constantly drive prices down to their lowest level while maintaining 100% on time in full.
  • Must be organized, create new SOP's whenever the need arises.
  • Work to grow the MLB book of business.
  • Availability mornings, evenings, and weekends to address potential issues as they arise.
  • Other Masser Logistic duties as needed.

SKILLS / QUALIFICATIONS

  • Logistical experience required; Accounting experience preferred.
  • Must be comfortable in working with MS Office/Google suites of products (Sheets, Docs, Word, Excel, etc.)
  • Must be a motivated self-starter, work with little direct supervision.
  • Multi-lingual a plus
