As a Hospital Business Office Specialist, you will play a vital role in assisting the patients we serve with the support and guidance they need. You will assist patients with their medical bills by helping them to understand their payment obligations before their accounts become past-due, this includes ensuring their insurance providers obligations are met.

As a valued team member your responsibilities will include:

  • Answering inbound calls from patients and addressing any inquiries, concerns, or requests with empathy and professionalism.
  • Assisting patients with insurance inquiries, claims, and billing matters.
  • Providing information about medical procedures, services, and general healthcare inquiries.
  • Documenting patient interactions and updating relevant systems according to established guidelines.

Requirements:


  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Proficient in basic computer applications and the ability to learn new software quickly.
  • 2 years of experience working with commercial or other third-party insurance claims, medical billing/follow-up
  • An understanding of various forms, codes (CPT & ICD), insurance terminology and insurance company remittance advice
  • EPIC experience preferred but not required
  • Empathy, compassion, and a genuine desire to help others.
  • Strong attention to detail.
