Barback - Chill

At Chill Bar Palm Springs, we are looking for an observant, efficient barback who can work with other staff members to ensure that our customers receive prompt service. The barback will assist in cleaning the bar, preparing garnishes, ensuring the bar is well stocked will all the necessities throughout the shift and taking on other duties to support the bartender and ensure the bar operates smoothly. You should be knowledgeable about menu items, attentive, and focused on providing the best possible service in a fast-paced environment.
To be a successful barback, you should be passionate about working as part of a team and delivering excellent drinks and service to customers. You should be efficient, reliable, and perceptive with excellent communication and time management skills.

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Keep the bar fully stocked at all times
• Prep garnishes (lemon, lime and orange wedges, herbs, olives, etc.) and label and date containers
• Pour juice and mixers into bottles, and label and date them
• Stock garnishes
• Refill ice wells
• Restock liquor bottles
• Change out beer kegs
• Replenish napkins, straws and other counter items
• Maintain clean bar rags 
• Clean counters
• Clean glasses and dishes
• Run drinks and clear glassware
• Clean drink spills and sweep broken glassware
• Ensure restrooms are clean and stocked
• Support bartenders with anything they need
• Relay key info to security, such as if someone is drinking out of an outside bottle, and if someone appears to be underage, too rowdy etc.
• Take out the trash throughout the shift (and wash hands after handling any garbage)
• Collect empty glasses from the bar
• Set up and tear down the bar
• Restock all bar containers for the next shift, including, prepping garnishes and juices for bar use the following day
• Mop behind the bar
• Clean no-slip mats behind the bar
• Restock liquor room and walk-in storage  
• Monitoring spills and trip hazards
