Job DescriptionJob DescriptionOutward Bound Hounds is a different type of pet care company. We provide quality care for a pet’s mind, body, and spirit. We are seeking professional and enthusiastic pet sitters and heart-centered dog walkers who want to provide top-notch care to our furry customers.

• Professional Dog Walker / Pet Sitter
• We would prefer a candidate who can consistently work with us Monday - Friday for either a Morning Shift (8am - 12pm) and/or an Afternoon Shift (12pm - 4pm).
• You would not work the entire shift, as schedules are based on client demand and staffing levels.
• Additional opportunities are available evenings and weekends.
• The position will start with a lighter schedule of 10-15 hours per week.
• We service Montgomery County, Gaithersburg, Potomac, North Potomac, Rockville, Bethesda, Germantown, Clarksburg, and nearby communities. We design routes to limit travel.  

Compensation:

$20 - $21 / hour (staff will train at $15 per hour for 1-2 weeks. After gratuity and bonuses, you may earn or exceed $21 per hour)

$800 - $1250 / month (based on availability, performance, client demand, and staffing levels)

• 100% Client gratuity. 
• Mileage reimbursement of 67 cents per mile. 

The responsibilities:

• This active role would require you to drive to each of our client’s homes throughout the day.
• You must be comfortable walking two dogs simultaneously; in some cases, each dog may weigh 60-80lbs. Please note that every dog with Outward Bound Hounds passes an initial temperament test. 
• At each home, you must follow the client’s instructions for caring for the pets by walking the dog(s), playing in the yard, feeding, giving medication, feeding cats, cleaning cat litter, and potentially caring for other small pets.
• Home care is also an essential part of our 24-hour pet-sitting service. Some of these duties include taking out or bringing in trash and recycling cans, bringing in mail/ papers/ packages, watering plants, turning lights on and off for safety, laundering linens, wiping off surfaces, and cleaning food bowls and/or floors.
• Visits are completed based on time frame, visit duration, and any additional service(s) requested by the client.
• We walk outdoors with our client’s dogs in all four seasons.
• We believe in maintaining a healthy work-life balance, but you may be required to work some holidays and some weekends.

• This is a fun work environment, but it requires critical thinking and the ability to work independently.
• We are a dedicated team of professionals. We are looking for ambitious team players. 
• Overnight pet sitting is our specialty, so being comfortable staying at a client’s home for overnight pet sitting is preferred.
• Candidates with a desire to grow within a local small business and a commitment to our vision.
• First-class customer service is critical to our success. 
• Special consideration is given to candidates with evening, weekend, and holiday availability.
