Job Summary

Our Latrobe production facility is seeking a Human Resource Generalist to join our growing team. This individual provides onsite support as the employee point of contact for any HR related circumstances and assistance needed. This position also serves as the employee data maintenance specialist and payroll administrator for hourly and salaried employees at the Latrobe site, assuring transactional accuracy and timeliness. While the role does sit onsite in Latrobe, the HR Generalist will partner with City's other facilities to create and uphold standardized HR practices across all sites.


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Processes bi-weekly payroll for all employees, including: base pay, bonuses, retro wages, vacation/sick pay-outs
  • Monitors S&A and other disability payments
  • Monitors and enters child support orders and wage garnishments
  • Tracks employee payroll deductions (i.e. 401k, union dues, credit union, and benefits)
  • Administers employee 401k plan through Fidelity
  • Assists in completion of annual non-discrimination testing
  • Administers FSA account
  • Assists outside vendor(s) with audits/testing, including but not limited to: payroll, 401(k), workers compensation, EEO-1
  • Assists employees with payroll or benefit questions
  • Tracks employee attendance
  • Assists with practices related to recruiting, hiring and on-boarding
  • In tandem with the Training Manager, identifies training needs and creates/implements programs or finds outside sources to address identified needs
  • Assists with annual compensation and benefit studies
  • Completes employment verification requests
  • Serves on committee member for Wellness and Social Committees
  • Supports HR efforts in areas of compensation planning, performance management, and succession planning
  • Participates in sitewide policy creation and implementation
  • Understands and applies basic HR laws and regulations
  • Monitors and provides for consistent and fair application of rules and policies
  • Provides training and coaching related to HR policies and procedures
  • Fosters employee/company and company/community relationships
  • Maintain CBC internal phone list
  • Assist in labor tracking
  • Supports benefits administration related to health, dental, life, disability, ancillary benefits, COBRA, etc.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree in Human Resources Management or similar program, required; Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • 3 years of Human Resource related experience, preferred
  • 3 – 5 years of payroll and benefits experience
  • Working knowledge of state and federal employment law and regulations
  • Experience administering health and welfare benefits and handling day-to-day employee relations issues
  • Experience working with worker’s compensation, FMLA, COBRA, and HIPAA programs
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Comfortable prioritizing a variety of of assignments and responsibilities while managing interruptions and changing priorities
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Proficiency with HRIS data entry and analysis required; ADP HRIS experience, preferred
  • Effective analytical, problem solving, administrative and organizational skills
