How You Will Help Us Make a Difference - Do you have a passion to guide youth into a better future, taking a proactive approach to avoid negative behaviors and embracing a healthy lifestyle? In this role you will:
- Ensures courses and activities adhere to science-based guidelines and grant requirements.
- Presents the courses and curriculum of the SMART program family.
- Identifies current and prospective club members for the GPIA program.
- Maintains required documentation and files for each child involved. Completes required monthly reports.
- Provides Prevention/Intervention Program Manager with input to ensure quality improvement for JJIS completing PAT in the time frame allowed by monitoring and evaluating program’s achievement against target goals, recommending modifications to enhance outcome.
- Provides one-on-one and group guidance to program participants.
- Maintain close, daily contact with Prevention/Intervention Program Manager.
What Are The Essential Requirements For This Position?
- A candidate must be able to pass a Level 2 Background Check to work for BGCMC.
- Demonstrated ability to work with program team, at-risk youth, parents, and community leaders.
- Competency in computer software including Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and Publisher.
- Experience working with grades K-12, or at least K-7
- Availability from 2:30-6pm with some Saturdays, and only part time availability now
- Experience with answering difficult questions from younger members and being able to give reasonable, ethical, and responsible solutions and answers.
- Comfortable in administering a curriculum in front of 10-30 club members.
- Experience or willing to learn to teach and speak about topics such as drug abuse and prevention, neighborhood safety, and emotional wellness.
- If working with teens, comfortable discussing content concerning drugs and dating
- Have your own transportation.
