Occupational Therapist, Psychiatric PRN Saturdays

We are looking for talented professionals to join our team at University of Maryland Medical Center - Downtown Campus.  

Our Psychiatric Occupational Therapy team is focused on delivering the best care possible to every patient and to supporting each other. When you join our team you will:

  • Deliver psychiatric occupational therapy services through evaluation of patient needs, goal determination, and development of treatment plans according to the principles and practices of occupational therapy.
  • Work as a part of a high performing team of dedicated Psychiatric Occupational Therapists providing patient centered care, anchored in the Recovery Model, in two state of the art Adult Inpatient Psychiatric units and the Adult Partial Hospitalization Program.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree, Master’s Degree, or Doctorate of OT, required.
  • Current licensure as an Occupational Therapist with the State of Maryland Department of Health and Mental Hygiene is required.
  • Current CPR certification is required.
  • 2 years of experience as an Occupational Therapist preferred
  • Psychiatric and/or child/adolescent psych experience preferred

 Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Working knowledge of Psychiatry, such as current Diagnostic Statistical Manual diagnoses, and the ability to work independently as well as lead and co-lead group treatment is required.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English in order to follow and give instructions accurately.
  • Ability to learn and practice positive guest relations skills.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills are required in order to work with patients and other therapy personnel effectively.
