Senior Life Enrichment Specialist

individual needs and interests.
Qualifications/Overview:
- High school graduate with some college course work in therapeutic recreation or gerontology preferred;
- Prior experience in recreation a plus; preferably in a geriatric setting;
- Excellent English communication skills both oral and written;
- Knowledge in aging process, dementia training a plus;
- Participate in the development of social events for traditional assisted living and special care residence;
- Empowers residents to develop interpersonal relationships, socialize effectively and develop a sense of pride in their accomplishments;
- Conduct meaningful activities and opportunities of engagement as outlined in the program calendar;
- Provide engaging activities for those residents who spend time in their rooms;
- Assist the Life Enrichment Coordinator with preliminary and comprehensive assessments of the activity needs of each resident;
- Maintains supplies in an orderly manner and notifies supervisor of supply needs in a timely manner;
- Maintains and posts daily and monthly calendars of events, outings and other recreational opportunities as required;
- Other duties as assigned
