MTA has an immediate opening in our Project Management department for a Service Estimator. The Service Estimator is responsible for developing and managing the service, testing, and repair quotes to our contractors and hospitals.

Essential Job Functions

· Timely and accurate responses to quote requests from sales team and field technicians

· Review equipment photos, O&M manuals, and account records to identify parts/equipment required for service, repair and maintenance plans

· Responsible for accurate estimates that meet targeted margin levels

· Collaborate with sales team, vendors, and manufacturers throughout bid process

· Articulate and write complete scope of work during bid phase

· Ability to understand labor and travel rates and job cost analysis

· Collaborate with customers, sales team and technical support team to identify a complete scope of work as required per NFPA 99 code

· Review of subcontractor proposals to ensure they are meeting required scope of work

· Support outside sales team by developing quotes and reviewing account history when needed

· Act as point of contact for customer inquiries on quotes and orders

· Maintain and monitor quote request log

· Read and interpret blueprints (plumbing/medical gas) and written specifications

· Responsible for identifying proper manufacturers of systems and components, as well as actively sending requests to manufacturers/vendors for required accurate parts information

· Ability to sit for extended periods of time.

· This is a full-time position and hours of work are typically Monday-Friday.

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated knowledge of quoting and estimating process, particularly with the medical gas, construction or mechanical/plumbing industries.
  • Exceptional mechanical knowledge/skills preferred
  • Technically astute.
  • Field experience in medical gas installation or service is preferred, but not required.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineered blueprints/plans and written specifications.
  • Knowledge of NFPA 99 code is strongly preferred.
  • Strong mathematical aptitude required.
  • Exceptional communication – both written and oral, negotiation and problem solving skills are required.
  • Intermediate computer skills and experience with Microsoft applications, including Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • NetSuite experience strongly preferred.
  • Highly organized with ability to prioritize a fluid workload and multi-task in a fast paced, high-volume environment.
  • Detail oriented, proactive, passion for quality and accuracy.
  • Self-motivator with ability to learn quickly.
  • Exceptional customer service skills.
  • Must show commitment to the company’s core beliefs of integrity, safety and customer service.
