JOB TITLE: Renovation Technician

DEPARTMENT: Maintenance

REPORTS TO: Maintenance Director

CLASSIFICATION: Non-Exempt

POSITION TYPE: Full time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday 8:00am – 4:00pm

Will be scheduled based on the operational need (rotate shift, standby, on-call)

POSITION SUMMARY:

Responsible for using a variety of tools and equipment to maintain the facilities and equipment of the Twin Lakes Community campus. Duties include, but are not limited to; carpentry, construction, plumbing, electrical and general preventative maintenance.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

General Maintenance:

  1. Maintain grounds and buildings, performing preventative maintenance, repairs and cleaning of buildings and grounds to include light plumbing, minor electrical, lighting, appliance repair, floor care, carpentry, mechanical, door hardware repairs and maintenance, painting and plastering.
  2. Experience with WorxHub or training will be required to perform this job.
  3. Requires “on call” as scheduled in advance, including weekends are required.

Painter:

  1. Responsible for mixing, matching, and applying paint to various surfaces, completing touchups, and coordinating large painting projects.
  2. Apply paint to surfaces including canvas, walls, floors, doors, and cabinets.
  3. Mix, match, and apply paint, varnish, shellac, enamel, and other finishes.
  4. Scrape, sandpaper, prime, or seal surfaces prior to painting.
  5. Clean walls to ensure proper adherence.
  6. Cover surfaces with cloth or plastic to ensure protection.

Carpet Installer:

  1. Responsible for measuring and prepping rooms for the installation of carpet. Prepares and exhibits samples for selection, rips up old flooring, and installs carpet in offices, homes, and buildings.
  2. Lay floor coverings in buildings, offices, homes, restaurants, and businesses.
  3. Install carpet.
  4. Measure rooms and draw up specifications for carpet.
  5. Remove and dispose of old flooring.
  6. Lay out samples for selection.
  7. Fasten a tackless strip to the floor.
  8. Install the padded cushion.
  9. Roll out, measure, mark, and cut the carpet.
  10. Position the carpet and stretch it to fit.

  6. Possess the ability to maintain reliable on-site attendance.
  7. Able to work mandatory work days and mandatory OT as needed.
  8. Able to meet the physical demands and working environment of the position.
  9. Able to follow procedures.

Working Environment:

  • May be required to adjust scheduled time or work beyond normal hours for planned activities/events and emergencies. Additionally, mandatory overtime may be required based on the operational need.
  • Operates in a professional office environment. Routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, copy machines, fax machines and file cabinets.
  • May be exposed to odors from cleaning supplies, chemicals, equipment, and /or waste.
  • Must be able to withstand inclement weather, warm and cool temperatures.
  • PPE may be required when performing certain tasks associated with this position.
  • Maintain care and use of supplies and equipment; make regular inspections of building areas.

Education and/or Experience:

• Two year technical degree in HVAC or electrical maintenance is preferred.

  • Experience with small engine repair preferred.
  • Associate Degree Preferred; High School Diploma required
