Sanitation Attendant II

Job Summary

The Sanitation Attendant II is a position that works under minimal supervision following prescribed procedures in the packing plant regarding processing plant sanitation. It is the role of the Sanitation Attendant II to meet or exceed Egg Farm quality standards by performing duties relative to processing operation sanitation. The Sanitation Attendant II may work with the processing team on packaging until the end of shift when cleaning and sanitation duties start. The Sanitation Attendant II position is of high importance as they are maintaining the food safety and food quality of all eggs that we produce and sell.

Job Responsibilities

It is the responsibility of the Sanitation Attendant II to know Kreher’s pre-established processing plant sanitation procedures and guidelines, and while working under minimal supervision:

• Cleaning and sanitation of the egg grader, the packing room, and may include the cooler and the dry storage warehouse.
• Sanitation of the egg washing area including conveyors, washers, blowers and egg inspection units, along with walls, floors and drains.
• Sanitation of the egg grader including the egg baskets, yellow brush area and covers/doors of the grader.
• Sanitation of the packer area including rollers, egg holders, all conveyors, machine framework, floors and drains.

• Review daily sanitation report to implement corrective action(s) during next sanitation time.
• Meeting or exceeding standards in the tasks performed for the department without sacrificing quality or personal safety.
• Is capable and willing to train others on proper sanitation techniques and Kreher quality standards.
• Maintaining a clean and organized work area to avoid accidents and encouraging the team to do the same.
• Looks for opportunities to eliminate re-work, waste, etc., and informs management of potential hazards.
• Prior to beginning cleaning and sanitation; works with packaging area to ensure that products are packaged in the correct carton/cases.
• Monitors products for valid dates (sell by, use by, and packaging dates).
• Complies with Kreher’s Policies and Work Rules, as well as federal and state laws.
• Ensures proper handling and operating of all warehouse equipment and machinery.
• Provides proper cleaning and sanitation of egg grader, packing room, cooler and dry storage warehouse.
• Performs other job duties as required
