Job DescriptionJob Description

Technica LLC (Technica) seeks to fill a Transportation Manager position for DLA Distribution Warehousing Operations in Guam (DDGM) pending contract award.


Responsibilities:

· Manages/Supervises Operations and Personnel supporting Transportation Functions under the contract to include employees in the Transportation, Material Processing Center (MPC) and Theater Consolidation & Shipping Center (TCSP) sections.

· Performs freight shipment and transportation support functions. Initiates freight release, creating vehicle load orders for a variety of modes, recommending changes in routing and or mode of transportation for more economical rates to meet required delivery dates.

· Considers the urgency of shipments, and availability and speed of carriers prior to making routing/release decisions. Reviews automated documentation for all types of shipments taking appropriate action to correct any invalid, void, or missing information. Prepares transportation related documents and logistics movement requests (LMR) for shipments of material within the theater of operations. Orders necessary equipment based on type of material.

· Maintains equipment control to assure that the equipment arrives, is loaded, and dispatched within the specified time frames. Maintains personal and telephone liaison with the appropriate representatives on problems concerning Transportation Movement Requests (TMR), late shipments, shortages, overages, services to be provided, documentation, and the availability of equipment. Prepares and furnishes information on shipments for daily reports.


Requirements:


· U.S. Expatriates; shall be fluent in speaking, reading, and writing the English language and shall possess the qualifications and certifications as follows

· Must be knowledgeable about and able to apply theater transportation regulations, policies, procedures, and practices to perform a wide variety of interrelated and nonstandard transportation support assignments and to resolve problems involving a wide range of specialized shipments.

· Knowledge of transportation automated systems and functional areas and their relationship with other functions to conduct extensive research for information needed to restructure and reconcile incomplete information.

· Shall prepare all Transportation Control and Movement Documents (TCMD) and other documentation required to process and book container through the Integrated Booking System (IBS).

· Must have OSHA compliance training and certification as well as Hazardous Material Preparer Certification.

· Uses DSS and other Government Data Systems to perform the requirements in the PWS. Experience shall include as a minimum three (3) years' experience in distribution and warehousing using DSS or equivalent automated Warehouse

Management System (WMS) within the past five (5) years.

· Ability to acquire and maintain a SECRET security clearance, if required
