Career Opportunity
The Material Handler is responsible for managing the flow of materials in and out of the manufacturing facility, ensuring timely delivery to production areas, and maintaining accurate inventory records. This role is crucial to the smooth operation of our modular unit production, supporting our mission to deliver high-quality products efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
Material Management:
- Receive, inspect, and store incoming materials.
- Ensure materials are delivered to the correct production areas on time.
- Manage inventory levels to support continuous production flow.
Inventory Control:
- Maintain accurate inventory records using inventory management software.
- Conduct regular inventory counts and reconcile discrepancies.
- Monitor and report low stock levels, initiating reorder processes as needed.
Logistics Coordination:
- Coordinate with suppliers and shipping companies for timely delivery of materials.
- Prepare and package materials for shipment as needed.
- Ensure proper labeling and documentation of materials.
Operational Support:
- Collaborate with production teams to understand material needs and priorities.
- Assist in the implementation of lean manufacturing principles to optimize material flow.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety standards.
Equipment Operation:
- Safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment.
- Perform routine maintenance checks on equipment to ensure proper functioning.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 1-3 years of experience in material handling or warehouse operations.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
- Proficiency with inventory management software and Microsoft Office products.
- Ability to operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping.
- Ability to lift up to 70 pounds and perform physical tasks for extended periods.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Work Environment:
- This position requires working in a manufacturing facility, which may include exposure to varying temperatures and noise levels.
- The role involves physical activities such as lifting, bending, and standing for long periods.
