Job Summary
Employees in this job will perform a variety of technician assignments in support of quality within the Receiving Inspection department. Work is performed through the application of a body of knowledge related to the methods, practices, procedures, policies and regulations of this field.
Primary Responsibilities
- Actively participates in meetings with Material Control, Purchasing, Suppliers, Production, Test, Customers and Management personnel as required in order to efficiently resolve any issues arising in day to day operations.
- Makes decisions using Quality acceptance criteria – if unknown, must be able to seek assistance through research, past experience and supervisors.
- Seeks ways to improve the performance, Quality and integrity of the product which may be approached through the use of tools, training, or re-design of equipment.
- Interacts with engineering to incorporate new ideas to improve product and performance.
- Maintains records and ensures all documentation is up to date.
- Maintains a good rapport with fellow employees, customers, external auditors and government contracted employees.
- Effectively communicates ideas, work instructions and expectations in an efficient and respectful manner.
- Reads drawings, SPI’s, contracts, standards and specs to understand specific requirements from customers and translates those requirements into SOP’s, IP’s and Work Orders.
- Maintains the highest ethical standards, even when challenged from above.
- Understands and lives by Armtec’s ethics and business conduct policies.
- Proficient in Excel spreadsheets; data analysis, formatting of usable tables and other evaluation documents.
- Working knowledge of Statistical Process Control and associated data analysis.
- Proficient in drawing reading, with strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
- Working knowledge of the practical use of quality measuring devices, including; calipers, micrometers, height/depth/bore gages, gage blocks, optical comparator, CMM, etc.
- Capable of setting up inspection methods, using GD&T principles (e.g. True position, Basic dimensions, Theoretical points, etc.
- Capable of interacting with other departments.
- Good record keeping and computer skills.
- Effective communication skills.
- Knowledge of drawings, SPI’s, contracts, standards and specs.
- Must be able to demonstrate ability in the Armtec competencies for all employees, customer focus, ethics & values, problem solving, integrity & trust, functional/technical skills, listening, action-oriented, composure and values diversity.
- Associates Degree from an accredited school preferred.
- 2 – 3 years related experience and/or training.
Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
