As the Prenatal Medical Assistant, you will provide direct patient care services including but not limited to chaperoning, collecting specimens, assisting providers, taking vitals, preparing rooms for patients, collecting and reporting accurate patient data within the EMR, ensuring rooms are properly stocked and cleaned, and assisting patients with access to services and coordination of care with appointments.

Salary Range: $20.00 - $25.65


Job Duties

  • Prioritizes getting patients out of the waiting area and into the rooms to see the provider, as well as facilitates the timely completion of visit.
  • Works closely with the OB providers as well as other team members.
  • Prepares exam rooms for patient visits.
  • Provides physical maintenance of supplies and equipment for patient services.
  • Ensures supplies are sterilized and properly restocked as needed.
  • Ensures supply orders are completed in a timely manner.
  • Supports the patient in improving access to health resources and social services.
  • Supports the Prenatal Team in meeting Quality Improvement Goals
  • Collaborates with all members of the care team to coordinate and manage care for the patient.
  • Performs limited health screening procedures under the direction of the provider including lab procedures (e.g., hematocrit, glucose check, urine dip, immunizations).
  • Participates in the preparation of patients’ charts and pre-visit planning.
  • As directed by the provider, assists with patient intake and discharge procedures.

Qualifications

  • Medical Assistant certification and/or two years Associates Degree in Science required.
  • Experience in OB/GYN setting preferred.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.

Work Location(s): Goodwin Community Health, Somersworth, NH

Hours Per Week: 40 (8:00am – 5:00pm)

Days: 5 (Monday – Friday)

Job Status: Full Time, Hourly (Non-Exempt)

Benefits

Our comprehensive benefits package includes medical and dental insurance with an agency subsidy. One of the GSCH health insurance plans has a no-premium option for employee-only coverage. GSCH offers a 401(k) plan with an employer match, employer-paid group term life insurance, and short-term disability coverage. Voluntary benefits include vision, long-term disability coverage, Flexible Spending Account, and access to local discounts. GSCH offers earned time accrual (15 days in your first year [pro-rated by FTE]), plus seven (7) paid holidays. Eligibility starts at 24 hours/week, with full benefits offered at 32 hours/week and above.


This position is eligible for retention bonus of up to $2,500.00.
