Fast-paced Foodservice Distributor is currently seeking a driven individual who has passion for implementing technology solutions to business process problems and ensuring the networks and systems used have the highest performance and uptime. We are seeking an experienced, dependable, organized, team player with the ability to manage multiple tasks and work under tight deadlines.

RESPONSIBILITIES

In this role, you will be responsible for the computing infrastructure including Windows and Linux servers, the services they host, and the networks used to access them. Some of the key roles and responsibilities include:

  • Manage multiple servers, workstations, and terminals, ensuring proper integration of these components with existing system architecture.
  • Implement, monitor, and maintain network security; ensure proper user accessibility; oversee security procedures. Define and implement network disaster recovery; ensure hardware, software, and information protection and file integrity.
  • Maintain and support active directory servers and services by adding, removing, and/or editing users; create access rights to users and user groups; set up and maintain security through proper configuration and system access monitoring.
  • Respond to end user technical issues by determining root cause, correcting, and then implementing improvements to prevent future failures.
  • Maintain best practices on managing systems and services across all environments
  • Proactively monitoring system performance and capacity planning
  • Create and modify scripts or applications to perform tasks
  • Provide input on ways to improve the stability, security, efficiency, and scalability of the environment
  • Collaborate with other teams and team members to develop automation strategies and deployment processes
  • Maintain change logs to enforce accountability while improving system stability and troubleshooting.
  • Manage contractors, vendors, and contributors to deliver robust solutions in a timely fashion.
  • Perform periodic reviews of the systems for accurate configuration, permissions, workflows, data, and logs.
  • Manage, coordinate, and implement software upgrades, patches, and hot fixes.
  • Available as needed for problem resolution, system implementation and augmentation.
  • Take ownership and responsibility for tasks that are assigned; demonstrate consistent professional and superior customer service and people skills.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned by the supervisor and or manager.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Be a team player, with the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and stakeholders at all levels of the organization
  • Meet goals and objectives as set forth by the Director of IT
  • Partake in projects and miscellaneous work related to the network as needed
  • Occasional weekend hours required for upgrades, conversions, etc. Some travel may be required.

WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • Three to five (3-5) years of increasingly responsible experience in network management, computer systems, systems analysis or related experience
  • Advanced knowledge of TCP/IP networking, related network services (DNS, DHCP, SNMP, etc) and network concepts (e.g., routing, NAT, Load balancing)
  • Excellent communication skills and an ability to interact and communicate with all levels of management and staff, particularly those lacking a strong technical background
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with a proven ability to organize, prioritize, create project plans, and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Highly motivated and self-directed; ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Demonstrated skills in writing/reviewing technical documentation as well as interacting with end users and external customers

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

Microsoft Office, Microsoft Windows (Desktop and Server), Experience with Telnet a plus, Active Directory, Networking, PC Hardware, Printer Trouble Shooting,

Remote Desktop

WORKING CONDITIONS

Standard office working conditions apply. Long periods of standing, walking, crouching and crawling may be required to accomplish various tasks. Lifting up to 25 lbs. may be required on occasion. May be required to work in some adverse temperatures, hot and cold.
