Description:

The Dept. Manager of Cheese, Deli & Bakery is responsible for the exceptional execution of Customer Service by the entire Team. They are responsible for managing departmental inventory, profit margin, labor budgets, pricing integrity, and merchandising standards. They will ensure that all Team Members receive the proper training to meet the expectations. They will give and receive feedback that fosters growth, and delivers on execution.

You have a love for the history and cultural value of specialty cheeses, charcuterie, and deli products, as well as the artisanal nature and local aspects of the baked goods and coffee.

You are organized, detail-oriented, comfortable with hard deadlines, and wish to continuously learn and grow your capabilities.

You are eager to collaborate with Store Operations, the VP and Support Group, and the other Team Leaders to make your department the best it can possibly be.

What you will bring:

Ability to manage multiple Teams and product lines simultaneously.

Ability to coach buyers to order enough product to keep the department fully stocked without overstocking.

Ability to consistently meet profit margin targets for the department.

Ability to collaborate closely with Store Operations, VP and Support Group and other Team Leaders on any and all issues related to purchasing.

Ability to work a variety of shifts including nights, weekends and holidays.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Proficiency in Microsoft Suite.

Ability to stand and walk for up to 4 hours without a break – we work on the floor, and alongside our team.

Ability to bend and stoop to grasp objects, climb ladders, lift loads, up to 50 lbs. unassisted, push and pull carts weighing up to 100 lbs. unassisted.
