Carry out tasks of carpentry work under the supervision of a qualified tradesman and consistent with apprenticeship level. The Carpenter I position assists with a wide variety of carpentry work such as being a cut man, preparing work areas with materials and tools, handling materials, cleaning work areas and tools. This position directly reports to the Foreman.

ACTIVITIES

  1. Arrive on time and be prepared to go to work on daily tasks.
  2. Prepare work areas for daily tasks.
  3. Assist Foreman/Carpenter II in daily tasks.
  4. Daily clean-up of work areas.
  5. Track and turn in all job-related receipts to project superintendent on time.
  6. Accurately track time and tasks performed on each project.
  7. Accurately complete and sign timecards by 5:00pm on Saturday.
  8. Complete OSHA 10 within the first 90 days of employment.
  9. Attend weekly toolbox talks on jobsites.
  10. Attend monthly staff meeting at 3:30PM on Thursdays.
  11. Observe and learn how to perform carpentry tasks from Foreman/Carpenter II.
  12. All other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS

1. 2+ years’ experience working as a Carpenter on commercial construction projects or related field.

2. Must have a basic understanding of carpentry or related field.

3. Must have knowledge of basic hand/power tools.

4. Must have basic hand tools.

5. Must have a current and valid United States Driver’s License.

6. Must have competent written and verbal communication skills.

7. Understand material and tool requirements of daily tasks.
