Required Duties, Skills and Abilities:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. - Proven work experience as a Peer Recovery Specialist or similar role.
- Motivational interviewing and active listening skills to further support clients.
- Ability to understand and meet the needs of the client through respectful, courteous, and caring interactions with patients, families, and other health professionals.
- Knowledge and skill to teach and engage in basic problem-solving strategies to support individual clients in self-directed recovery.
- Knowledge and skill sufficient to use community resources necessary for independent living and the ability to teach those skills to other individuals.
- Knowledge, understanding, and adherence to organizational policy related to the patient's rights to confidential care.
- Ability to work with health personnel and clients of varying ethnic backgrounds.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Other duties as assigned by peer supervisor or management.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must hold a current, unencumbered Peer Recovery credential from the Minnesota Certification Board, the Upper Midwest Indian Council on Addictive Disorders, or the National Association for Alcoholism and Drug Abuse Counselors.
- Current valid driver’s license.
- Consistent access to an insured, reliable vehicle.
- Self-declaration of recovery for 1 year or longer.

Location: Lutheran Social Services, 1605 Eustis St, St Paul, MN 55108
Working Hours: 40 hours per week between 6 AM-10 PM
Compensation: Hourly range for full time is expected to be $22-25 with benefits eligibility including medical, dental, vision, 401k match, PTO and more The exact hourly rate will be determined based on experience and other factors.Powered by JazzHR
