Role:


To introduce new employees through orientation with training techniques, programs, and assessments, consistent with Credit Union mission and vision. Evaluates and recommends materials to aid in the creation and implementation of various learning and development programs focused on employee's professional development, leadership skills, policies and procedure compliance and technical skills that meet Credit Union needs. Assist with maintaining the apparel program and the tuition reimbursement program for the Credit Union. Be a positive representation of EFCU's culture, mission, vision, and values.


Essential Functions & Responsibilities:


  • Develops, updates, and implements new employee orientation training program and reference materials. Continuously keeps current on Credit Union procedures and culture as needed to provide the most up-to-date training to all new employees.
  • Promotes and familiarizes employees with new training policies, procedures, rules, regulations and techniques. Assist with designing training materials and manuals, and formulates training procedures.
  • Explains career apparel guidelines, order uniforms for new employees and assists with all employees on a 18th month cycle, including developing and distributing information to all employees. Assist with providing sample uniform sizes, collecting order forms, coordinating orders and returns due to order errors and factory defects, receiving and distributing orders and placing orders.
  • Assists with paperwork for Accounting on uniform orders and pant reimbursements received. Assists in the recordkeeping of employee payroll deductions and sending changes to Accounting on a biweekly basis. Assist with sending monthly payroll deduction balance sheets to Accounting and helps reconcile any discrepancies.
  • Coordinates with various departments to assist in orientation training classes. Conducts interviews of new employees for the eNews and proctor new employee surveys.
  • Assists with overseeing the Credit Union Tuition Reimbursement Program. Reviews college degree preapproval applications for employees that are participating in the tuition reimbursement program. Sends tuition reimbursement applications to Accounting for reimbursement. Recommends and researches changes and updates as needed.
  • Other job-related duties as assigned.

Make recommendations and implement changes to HR Training and Development programs and New Employee Orientation.

Make recommendations and changes to EFCU's Apparel Program.

Must be able to work independently and have excellent communication skills.

4.

Must be comfortable with organizing, motivating, and presenting to large groups.

5.

Professionalism in appearance, dress, and attitude is a must.

6.

Must be discreet with a high sense of value and integrity, respect for people. Confidentiality is a must.

7.

Must have a working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

8.

Must be pleasant, courteous, professional and efficient.

9.

Must report to work regularly and on time.

10.

Must embrace and display EFCU's Mission, Vision, and Values.


Knowledge and Skills:


Experience

Three years to five years of similar or related experience. Training and supervisory experience preferred.

Education

(1) A two-year college degree, or (2) completion of a specialized certification or licensing, or (3) completion of specialized training courses conducted by vendors, or (4) job-specific skills acquired through an apprenticeship program. Concentration in HR/Training is preferred.

Interpersonal Skills

Work involves much personal contact with others inside and/or outside the organization for the purpose of first-level conflict resolution, building relationships, and soliciting cooperation. Discussions involve a higher degree of confidentiality and discretion, requiring diplomacy and tact in communication.

Other Skills

1. Must possess excellent communication and organizational skills. Must be able to speak confidently and effectively in group settings.
2. Must help to retain and motivate personnel.

Physical Requirements

Must be available for travel to branches, community events, and job fairs as needed.
