Job DescriptionJob Description

Job Summary

Responsible for performing the quality assurance and quality control processes and practices for a cannabis production facility under the direction of the VP of Quality and Site Leaders.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Primary quality liaison for the site to provide communication, guidance, and input to the development of companywide quality and biosecurity program.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor product quality, quality control and biosecurity processes at the facility.
  • Responsible for coordinating state regulated quality sampling and testing protocols.
  • Monitors process controls for cultivation, post-harvest, finished goods, assembly, fulfillment, and labeling as needed.

Job Requirements

  • Quality Program
    • Participate on a companywide quality team to develop and improve internal quality and biosecurity programs.
    • Assist in maintaining the quality control program and quality related tasks, which may include developing and updating standard operating procedures (SOPs), participating in method validation, managing defects, root cause analysis, improvement actions and monitoring process conditions for the facility.
  • Test Coordination
    • Stay up to date with local and state regulations related to cannabis testing and quality control. Ensuring all testing activities comply with relevant legal and industry requirements.
    • Keep track of all Stability testing needs from a state regulation standpoint and internal corporate requirement to extend expiration dates as needed and send those samples out according to schedule and requirements.
    • Organize and coordinate internal and external materials and scheduling for state regulated sampling and testing activities.
    • Manage and communicate incoming test results against specifications.
    • Keep and organize all state Retention sample requirements.
    • Receive, audit, and then send External Biomass bought from 3rd party vendors for extraction to the internal Extraction Lab.
    • Work collaboratively with other team members, including analysts, lab managers, and production staff, to communicate results and address any quality-related concerns.
  • Quality Control
    • Operate and maintain a variety of monitoring equipment and instruments used in testing, such as ATP, PAR, CO2 meters and other analytical tools.
    • Accurately record and document monitoring results, including data analysis and interpretation.
    • Ensure that all data is maintained in compliance with regulatory standards and internal protocols.
    • Monitor routine equipment calibration, maintenance, and troubleshooting to ensure accurate and reliable results as needed.
