As a swim instructor, youll be in 90 degree water teaching swim lessons to children ages four months to 12 years old. Parents trust you to teach their children this life saving skill with patience, energy, and enthusiasm.

When you join Goldfish Swim School, you can expect a warm and welcoming environment. You don't have to have a swim background to be a great swim instructor. We provide all training, gear and certifications and are committed to training, educating, and supporting our people with integrity, compassion and trust.

Requirements:
  • Ability to work with children
  • Must be 15 years old
  • Excellent interpersonal communication and organizational skills
  • Must pass background examinations (included with training)
  • Must be able to be in the water for a minimum of a three hour shift in a warm and humid environment
Duties:
  • Provides swim instruction based on the Goldfish Swim School curriculum
  • Enforces safety rules and regulations to prevent accidents
  • Evaluates students progress, and completes required paperwork in a timely manner
  • Interacts professionally with parents/guardians after each swim lesson on the activities and development of students swim skills
  • Uses problem solving and creative thinking skills to identify and resolve challenges that students encounter
  • Assists with setting up the pool prior to lessons and cleaning up after lessons including proper storage of all pool equipment and lane lines
  • Attend required/mandatory workshops and in-service training outside of regular working hours
Education/Experience:
  • No experience necessary. This is a great first job and part time job for teenagers in high school and/or college students.
  • Experience as a certified lifeguard, youth sports instructor/coach, camp counselor and/or childcare provider a plus
  • Lifeguard, CPR/AED and First Aid certification will be required. For those not certified, Goldfish Swim School provides certifications courses in our facility which all employees are required to complete within 3 months of employment.
