Maintenance Planner

Position Title: Maintenance Planner

Location: Spruce Pine NC

Reports to: Maintenance Manager

Summary:

Establish, maintain and improve the Maintenance Planning and scheduling system. Develop the full extent of maintenance work needed to conduct the relevant, preventative or predictive repair. Develop cost and time estimates of planned maintenance and ensure all necessary parts, equipment, and services are available to perform assignment.

Duties & Responsibilities:

1. Responsible for setting up and maintaining the accuracy of equipment maintenance history and job records database (Fixx)
2. Assist in scheduling maintenance into production plan
3. Competent in failure analysis to ensure parts quality.
4. Apply good management practices and parts management to ensure parts and equipment retain full reliability while stored
5. Continually improving planning, scheduling, purchasing, data management and job reporting systems to increase planning effectiveness and efficiency
6. Develop accurate inventory control measures and ensure and validate critical parts inventories
7. Willingness to travel to other locations to support inventory control
8. Other duties as assigned

Skill/knowledge Requirement:

1. Excellent written/verbal communication and reporting skills
2. Attention to detail coupled with excellent organizational aptitude
3. Strong computer skills required
4. Ability to meet demanding deadlines
5. Knowledge of IFS a plus

Required Activities:

Requires frequent walking, standing, bending, reaching and lifting with exposure to seasonal climatic conditions. Must be able to

climb stairs. Lifting, carrying and/or pushing and pulling objects up to 100 pounds. Operate fork lift

Education/Experience:

Must have 3-5 years experience in maintenance planning and/or inventory control

HS Diploma Required, College degree preferred.
