JOB TITLE: Dining Room Supervisor SUPERVISES: Dining Service Staff
REPORTS TO: Director of Restaurant Operations / Food & Beverage Manager
JOB SUMMARY: Ensures that members and guests receive excellent service. Cleans and prepares dining room for service. Receives instruction from Ala Carte Manager throughout shift. Observes all Club safety rules and guidelines.
JOB TASKS:
- Working knowledge of Club rules and policies as outlined in the Houston Country Club Employee Handbook and Orientation Guide.
- Supports Management’s decisions, policies and goals.
- Ensures that a high level of service is maintained, and the service team completes all the service points at each table.
- Works with staff to ensure member names are remembered and used.
- Ensures that opening and closing checklists are completed.
- Check with the operator for reservations prior to shift.
- Attends taste panel prior to every shift (10:30 AM and 5:15 PM).
- Supervises and supports Wait Staff, Sever Assistants, Food Runners and Server Assistants.
- Ensures Members and their guests are cared for in a timely and friendly manner.
- Talks with each table during service to ensure service standards are met.
- Must communicate member concerns to manager on duty prior to the end of the shift.
- Ensures cleanliness of the dining room and side stand.
- Completes and signs shift closing report after work is completed and inspected.
- Delivers Servers check outs to the Director of Restaurant Operations or the Food & Beverage Manager.
- Greets members and guests and escorts them to their table.
- Offers members and guests menus for dinner.
- Informs Members of daily Features and upcoming Club events.
- Ensure that tables are properly set, and dining room is clean.
- Ensures workstation is completely set for the next shift including polishing flatware and stemware.
- Ensures all supplies are well stocked and ready before each shift.
- Assigns sections for the servers before each shift.
- Make sure there are no tray jacks or dirty trays in the dining room.
- Oversees Patio business in the absence of the Patio Maitre ‘d.
REQUIRED EDUCATION:
- Must be 18 years of age or older to work in this position.
- Experience in related jobs is a must.
- Must be able to communicate professionally in English.
- WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Must be able to work in a warm and humid environment at times.
- Functions outside may require working in hot, sunny, cool, cold, and/or rainy conditions.
- Working conditions are often slippery and wet.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule and/or overtime if needed.
- Must be available to work weekends and holidays.
- Must work well with others as a team and help co-workers as needed.
- Must have an outgoing personality.
- Should have an eye for detail.
- Must possess honesty and integrity.
- Must always be courteous and tactful.
- Must be innovative and look for areas that need improvement.
- Must always treat others with kindness and respect.
- Perform other duties as required.
