Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Electrical Engineer (EE) to join our team in Golden Valley, MN. This position offers a hybrid work schedule, with the flexibility to work remotely on Mondays and Fridays and be on-site the remaining three days of the week. The role is initially for approximately six months, with the potential for extension based on performance and project needs.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop analog circuits, including inverting, non-inverting, and transconductance amplifier configurations.
  • Work with various switching power supply topologies and ensure compliance with design standards.
  • Understand and implement embedded circuit design requirements such as signal conditioning, noise mitigation, and transient protection.
  • Perform circuit simulation and design, create new schematics, modify existing ones, and conduct tolerance analysis to ensure optimal operation.
  • Lay out multilayer PCBs or guide layout technicians to avoid issues like part interferences, high voltage spacing violations, and electrical noise susceptibility.
  • Lead qualification programs by writing test plans, supervising test procedures, troubleshooting failures, and reviewing and writing comprehensive reports.
  • Interface with approval agencies such as UL, CSA, TUV, etc., to ensure compliance and approval of designs.
  • Utilize Mentor Graphics schematic capture and layout tools (bonus).
  • Apply experience with HVAC or residential appliances (bonus).

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in electrical engineering.
  • Proven expertise in analog circuit design and switching power supplies.
  • Strong understanding of embedded circuit design and related requirements.
  • Experience in circuit simulation, schematic creation, modification, and tolerance analysis.
  • Competence in PCB layout or providing guidance for effective layout to mitigate common design issues.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead qualification programs and interface with regulatory approval agencies.

Familiarity with Mentor Graphics tools is a plus.

Experience with HVAC or residential appliances is a plus.
