Title: Quality Engineer - Automation and API Testing

Location: 400 Robert Street North, Saint Paul, Minnesota 55101 - (Remote)
Duration: Long term contract

Must Have: JavaScript, Selenium, Automation testing, underwriting experience.

Must Haves:

  • UI Automation (WDIO IO, JavaScript / Node JS / Typescript, Java, HTML, JSON,)
  • API Automation (RESTful Web Services, API Test Automation using Axios/Jest or similar tool - Javascript, Typescript, Java, XML, SQL)
  • Domain (Underwriting experience a plus, MRAS/Allfinanz (underwriting rules engine) a plus)
  • Agile
  • Test Management (Agile Scrum with Jira, GitHub, GitHub Actions - test planning, development, execution, defect management)

Job Description (JD):

Create, maintain, and execute automated and manual tests.

Recommend and influence the quality strategy required to support products including manual and automation testing.

Participate in design and specification reviews and use this information to design test plans.

Provide creative ideas to ensure overall product and integration quality.

Ensure automation code quality, leveragability, and maintainability through code reviews, standards, etc.

Promote practices to further Continuous Delivery & Continuous Improvement

Provide technical guidance to others on the QE team.

Collaborate closely with all stakeholders on assigned projects to establish a culture of quality, including a "shift left" focus for preventing and finding defects.

Any additional good to have skills:

Strong technical aptitude and experience with the software tools and techniques used in software development and automated testing.

Experience with test management tools for test planning, authoring, execution, tracking and reporting.

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence, collaborate, and build solid relationships with team members.

Underwriting experience a plus

MRAS/Allfinanz (underwriting rules engine) a plus
