Job Brief
The Senior Architect plans the layout of projects and integrates architectural elements with engineering elements (i.e. M.E.P/Civil/Structural), into a unified design for client review and approval.
Responsibilities
- He/She oversees the preparation of project designs, drafting, and plans.
- They also conduct periodic on-site observation of work during the construction phase, to monitor and ensure construction complies with the architectural and engineering plans provided.
- They will be responsible for preparing operating and maintenance manuals, as well as various studies, and reports.
- Will direct activities of other architects, intern architects, and designers responsible for preparing drawings and specification documents.
- He/She can be relied upon to present directly to the client on technical and design solutions.
- Works closely with the Practice Leader to execute project plans.
- The ability to assess existing Facilities for deficiencies to correct and to describe accurately for cost estimating.
- The Senior Architect administers a variety of building projects for public and/or private clients.
- Works independently and directly with the client on projects and requires little guidance and is responsible for the production of innovative, appropriate, cost-effective, designs/drawings
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Architecture
- Over Ten Years of Architectural design and construction experience.
- Experience in Healthcare and/or hospital Projects is required.
- Architectural Registration and NCARB Certification is preferred.
- LEED accreditation preferred.
- Ability to research technical requirements from federal websites.
- Ability to conduct building inspections of occupied spaces in a healthcare environment.
- Understanding of MEP building systems in a healthcare environment.
- Understanding of Life Safety requirements in a healthcare environment.
- Understanding of Architectural Building Components and Systems in a healthcare environment.
- Ability to train and mentor staff in a positive manner to allow individuals to grow within the industry and firm.
- Strong Revit experience
