Position Overview: The Corporate Controller will be a key member of the finance team, responsible for overseeing all financial aspects of our property management operations. This role requires a strategic thinker with a strong background in real estate finance, accounting, and a thorough understanding of property management and construction processes. The Corporate Controller will ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial information, compliance with regulatory requirements, and provide insightful financial analysis to support decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Financial Reporting and Analysis:

    • Oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
    • Ensure timely and accurate reporting of financial results in accordance with GAAP.
    • Conduct financial analysis to support business decisions and strategic planning.
    • Manage the budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis processes.

  2. Accounting and Compliance:

    • Oversee all accounting operations including billing, accounts receivable, accounts payable, general ledger, and financial reporting.
    • Ensure compliance with internal controls, policies, and procedures.
    • Coordinate and lead the annual audit process, liaise with external auditors.
    • Maintain and enhance internal control policies and procedures.

  3. Team Leadership and Development:

    • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of accounting professionals.
    • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth within the team.
    • Provide training and support to ensure adherence to accounting standards and best practices.

  4. Strategic Financial Management:

    • Support the Owner/CEO in financial planning and strategic initiatives.
    • Participate in the evaluation and due diligence of potential acquisitions and investments.
    • Provide financial insights and recommendations to senior management.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or MBA preferred.
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3-5 years in a controller role.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting requirements.
  • Experience in real estate, property management, and construction accounting.
