PRIMARY RESPONSBILITY:

The Shipping Lead is responsible for coordinating, in liaison with the Shipping & Receiving Coordinators, the Shipping and Receiving activities within the department in order to meet the department goal of 100% on time delivery with 100% accuracy in shipment quantities. This position is also responsible for material handling functions in order to ensure trucks are loaded properly and finished goods are delivered on time.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Follow all Safety Guidelines & Procedures (i.e. LOTO, Guarding).

• Receive oral and/or written instructions in performing assigned duties.

• Assist with all Shipping functions including paperwork and truck scheduling.

• Assign daily tasks to loaders and material handlers in receiving department.

• Oversee Receiving of fiber and non-fiber products.

• Utilize scanners to ship outgoing goods.

• Use Assistics and Adage to generate delivery tickets and Bills of Ladings.

• Operate forklift and Clamp Truck as well as other material handling equipment.

• Load trucks as directed by supervisor.

• Take daily, weekly and monthly stock and cycle counts; assist in correcting perpetual inventories.

• Compress rolls for shipment and assist in bagging and labeling all finished goods.

• Actively participate in 6S Process and maintain housekeeping during the shift.

• Perform cleaning and/or waste removal duties according to designated procedures.

• Process Shipments as needed.

• Serve as back-up to Receiving Clerk.

• Ensure material is in proper inventory location

• Other duties as assigned

• Adhere and comply with ISO quality procedures

MUST have Excel experience

QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.

• Manufacturing experience is a plus, but not required.

• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.

• Ability to perform basic math skills such as add/subtract/multiply/divide.

• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables and implement solutions to correct.

• To perform this job successfully, an individual must have proficiency with basic office computer software, e.g., word processing, email, and spreadsheets.

• Ability to operate material handling equipment.

• Ability to follow work instructions.

• Must be move and/or transport 50lbs. repetitively and occasionally up to 75lbs.

• Ability to work overtime as needed.

• Ability to work in hot/cold manufacturing environment, which can include standing and/or sitting for duration of task.
