Job DescriptionJob Description

Our client is seeking an experienced Locksmith to impact the company by completing assigned commercial work orders of basic locksmithing and access control hardware installations at customer locations throughout their assigned territory. 

This position will require travel to commercial customer locations, physical installations on both interior and exterior doorways, and the ability to have security clearances. Some occasional after hour, weekend, and holiday calls will be required.

 

You would make valuable contributions through:

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and communication
  • Resolving matters containing several variables
  • Exceptional time management, prioritization, and organizational skills
  • Demonstrating professionalism, discretion, and trust with confidential material and maintaining a unified and professional presence with the team and customers.
  • Safely operating a variety of tools and equipment including key cutting equipment, hand, and power tools (drills, grinders, saws, chisels, multimeters, etc.) to fulfill customer work orders.

 

Your job-specific tasks would also include responsibilities such as:

  • Basic locksmithing (repair/replace lever sets, panic bars, closers, lock picking, etc.) 
  • Re-keying cylinders/cores with ability to cut keys by code
  • Install and/or repair access control hardware (cut in electric strikes, auto operators, electrified locks, mag locks, etc.) 
  • Follow and complete customer-specific requirements (IVR, pictures, check-in/check-out, etc.) 
  • Diagnose field issues and effectively communicate what product or repairs are needed 

Skills/Requirements

This position strictly requires a minimum of at least 3 years of locksmith and/or access control experience. Applicants without this minimum requirement will not be considered.

Other qualifications include:

  • Knowledge of life safety, fire, and ADA code requirements.
  • Ability to read and understand instructions, floor plans, diagrams, blueprints and schematics/drawings 
  • Strong commitment to safety (including wearing appropriate PPE, and proper ladder use, as well as working with electrical and other environmental hazards).
  • Adept with computers and mobile devices as required for data entry and communications.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to speak expertly, clearly, and concisely.

The following are preferred but not required:

  • AAADM Certification
  • Hollow metal door and frame installation and service experience
  • Safe opening with repair and bank lock experience
  • Aluminum storefront installation and repair experience
