Primary purpose: Lead the fabrication process and team through production.


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Shop foreman: Manage all aspects of the production process to produce top quality products for our customers. Cultivate and foster a culture of teamwork and camaraderie based on trust and mutual respect. Assist the manager in acquiring, training, and retaining team members. Maintain the highest of Franklin and the department manager’s standards.
  • Safety and Quality: Prioritize safety and quality throughout the production process.
  • Collaboration: Working with the department manager to establish processes and standards which will result in a positive team environment and the highest quality products for our customers. Work with assigned team members to create best practices and procedures to obtain desired results. Collaborate with peers, other department leads and management to build a team and culture centered on pursuit of excellence.
  • Feedback: Solicit and accept feedback from peers, other department leads and management with the goal of becoming a better leader.
  • Label Interpretation: Understand and interpret labels relating to the material being fabricated.
  • Documentation: Review job documentation, gain clarity from the programmer if necessary, and verify job documentation is completed post fabrication completion.
  • Proactive Communication: Keep the department manager informed of any issues or concerns relating to assigned team members, equipment, or processes. Actively communicate with assigned team members
  • Tool Knowledge: Knowledgeable and proficient in the tooling needed for fabrication, operating them correctly and safely.
  • Tool and Environment Maintenance: Maintain tools and work environment in a safe and clean manner, minimizing disturbances to other areas.
  • Punctuality: Arrive at work on time every day.
  • Communication Skills: Communicate openly and clearly with team members and management.
  • Positive Attitude: Maintain a positive attitude, contributing to a positive work environment.
  • Problem Solving: Demonstrate the ability to problem-solve with minimal supervision.
  • Judgment Skills: Exhibit good judgment and decision-making skills.
  • Adaptability: Be adaptable, able to modify planned daily schedules for unplanned urgencies.

  • Quality Standards: Assess and approve all material quality to the highest of Franklin standards prior to installation.
  • Training: Mentor current and new team members in fabrication knowledge, procedures, and standards with professionalism.
  • Accountability: holding team members accountable for job assignments, time management, and standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Requirements:

Qualifications:

  • Driver’s License: Hold a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Tape Measure: Proficient in reading a tape measure.
  • Professionalism: Maintain a professional demeanor to positively represent the company.
  • Team Player: Be a team player, contributing to all areas as needed.
  • Attention to Detail: Pay great attention to detail in all aspects of the job.
  • Communication Skills: Be approachable, a good listener, and communicate effectively.
  • Adaptability: Able to modify planned daily schedules for unplanned urgencies.
  • Strategic Thinking: Be a thinker, planner, and visionary.

  • Physical Requirements: The position requires the ability to lift a minimum of 75 pounds

Strongly Preferred:

  • Countertop Fabrication Experience: Previous experience in countertop fabrication is strongly preferred.
  • Software Proficiency: Experience using Microsoft Office products for administrative tasks.
  • Construction Background: Background in residential and commercial construction & remodels is strongly preferred.
