Brief Summary of Position:

Perform duties and tasks to set-up and operate all areas of magnetic and physical inspection of sintered and cast products, including packing of product, as required.

Responsibilities:

  • Work from written and verbal instructions, read and interpret blue prints.
  • Coordinate with engineering on getting magnetic curves, as required by customer.
  • Measure flux levels and record results in the Quality Management System.
  • Magnetize or demagnetize parts as required.
  • Prepare and maintain inspection records.
  • Dispose of scrap in the proper location.
  • Move parts to next operation as indicated by work instructions
  • Work to ensure AQL’s / magnetic testing is performed within 24 hours of job arriving in department.
  • Complete documentation without error according to requirements of the quality system.
  • Visually and dimensionally inspect magnetic and physical characteristics of products according to stated inspection procedure.
  • Record dimensional and test results, count and report rejects on inspected parts as per the quality system.
  • Dispose of scrap in the proper location using proper identification as per the quality system
  • Pack magnetized parts based on standard procedures or special instructions, including visual inspection of product.
  • Complete documentation without error according to requirements of quality management system.
  • Maintained work area so as to keep it in a clean, safe and orderly condition.
  • Perform miscellaneous duties, as assigned.

  • None

Required Technical/Job Experience and Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2 years in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in inspection and/or packing required.
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings / blue prints and routing information to meet customer expectations.
  • Ability to manage time and work flow to best optimize efficiency for department and self with minimal direction from Operations Manager.
  • Strong personal organizational and time management skills with attention to detail.

Education Requirements:

  • High School degree, diploma or a GED equivalent qualification from a certified college.

  • Ability to work with other departments; good communication skills.
  • Effective interpersonal skills and relationship-building skills

Working Conditions:

  • Standard work week is Monday through Friday, hours to be consistent with business unit; some off hours work expected
  • Generally working production environment

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 25 - 40 pounds
  • Must be able to climb ladders and use hand-trucks
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods of time
  • Working around magnetic fields, may not have any metal implants or pacemaker.
