What We Need:

Obagi is seeking an analytical, organized, and meticulous Junior/Staff Accountant to join our small but mighty Finance & Accounting team Reporting to the Accounting Manager, this candidate will oversee account reconciliations, audits, posting of journal entries, and other ad-hoc projects.

What You’ll Do:

  • Oversee daily accounting operations tasks: preparing journal entries: recurring, accrual, and prepayments.
  • Maintain detailed reconciliations of balance sheet & income statement accounts.
  • Provide detailed analysis and explanations of any variances.
  • Own the sales taxes reconciliation and value added tax (VAT).
  • Manage Bank Reconciliation process and issue weekly reports.
  • Support any account payable related activities as needed.
  • Assist with external reporting, audit and tax requests, and month/quarter/year-end close processes.
  • Utilize internal ERP system to ensure accurate and timely data extraction and reporting.
  • Assist with any ad-hoc reporting or projects as needed.

What You’ll Need:

  • A bachelor’s degree from an accredited university is required, a focus in Accounting or Finance highly preferred.
  • At least 2-5+ years of hands-on experience as an accounting lead, demonstrating a solid foundation general accounting principles and best practices; industry experience and/or CPG experience highly preferred.
  • Exceptional organizational and prioritization/time management skills; demonstrated ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines and manage responsibilities across multiple customers simultaneously.
  • Comfortable operating in a fast paced, ever-changing environment; someone who thrives in ambiguity and adapts quickly.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with a heavy emphasis on mastery of Excel, showcasing the ability to manipulate data effectively and derive valuable insights; other technologies such as ERP systems, prior experience with Oracle a huge plus.
  • An energetic, positive attitude that encourages a team and builds/maintains robust relationships.
