SUMMARY

Performs maintenance and repair of visitor center facility, or coordinates with outside contractors to perform said maintenance and repair.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

 

Performs and/or coordinates painting and structural repairs to masonry, woodwork, and furnishings of Visitor Center.

 

Prepares repair and equipment history record.

 

Supervises outside contractors and maintenance service contracts.

 

Visually inspects and tests machinery and equipment, including the café and Chocolate Shoppe.

 

Installs and repairs and/or coordinates installation or repair of electrical apparatus, such as transformers and wiring, and electrical and electronic components of machinery and equipment.

 

Repairs and maintains physical structure of Visitor Center.

 

Performs basic electrical and plumbing work in the Visitor Center.

 

Possesses knowledge of fire and alarm system.

 

Initiates purchase order for parts and machines.

 

Manages and puts up large outdoor Mr. Jelly Belly inflatable, stage and dance floor

 

Forklift, scissor lift, and boom lift certified.   On occasion, must drive the box truck or a company car to pick up items (ie, from Home Depot, etc.) needed for the Visitor Center

 

Responsible for all outdoor seasonal décor, including but not limited to large Christmas tree, garland, wreaths, reindeer, etc.

 

Works with the Visitor Center managers to fix or repair items along with any facility project.

 

The hours are generally 7 am to 3:30 pm Monday through Friday.   However, sometimes due to contractor work performed before or after hours, there may be a need to start earlier or later than this time.   On occasion, a weekend day or a split shift may be required.   Schedule changes will be approved by the VP of Retail Operations.

 

Inherent in each position is a general duty to maintain each respective work area in a safe and sanitary condition.  Regular, predictable, full-time attendance is required as an essential function of this position.  The employee may be required to perform other such duties within the scope of their employment as may be assigned.  The employee must also possess the ability to take direction, follow instructions, work with others, follow work rules and schedules, and focus on details.

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES  This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

 

QUALIFICATIONS  To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE  High school diploma or general education degree (GED).  Three (3) to five (5) years related experience and/or training.

 

COMMUNICATION SKILLS  Ability to read and interpret documents in English such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS  Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure.

 

REASONING ABILITY  Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

 

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS  Must have a driver’s license.
