Join our team as a Purchasing Specialist and play a key role in ensuring the efficient flow of purchasing goods and services. Maintain our centralized ordering procedures, prepare best value quotes, as well as process requisitions and purchase orders. You'll work closely with staff to meet their purchasing needs while adhering to state bid laws and grant requirements. You will also assist with updating the ETCOG procurement services policies and procedures manual and assist staff with procurement training.

In addition, you'll assist with formal competitive bids and contract renewals, conducting research and providing valuable insights to ensure compliance with federal and state statutes. Education & Experience Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent required; college degree with coursework in business management, public administration, or purchasing preferred; purchasing certification a plus. Minimum of 2 to 3 years of experience in purchasing as an agent or buyer; equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.

East Texas Council of Governments is a voluntary association of counties, cities, school districts and special districts within the fourteen-county East Texas region.
