Job Description:

We are seeking compassionate and reliable individuals to join our team as Non-Emergency Medical Transportation (NEMT) Drivers for wheelchair vans. As an NEMT Driver, you will play a crucial role in providing safe and comfortable transportation for individuals with mobility challenges to medical appointments, therapy sessions, and other essential destinations.

Responsibilities:

  • Safely operate a wheelchair van to transport passengers to and from medical appointments, clinics, and other locations as needed.
  • Assist passengers with boarding, securing, and disembarking from the vehicle, ensuring their safety and comfort throughout the journey.
  • Adhere to all traffic laws and company policies and procedures to maintain a safe driving environment for passengers and yourself.
  • Maintain cleanliness and regular maintenance of the vehicle, including pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure its safety and functionality.
  • Communicate effectively with dispatchers, passengers, and healthcare providers to coordinate pickup and drop-off times and locations.
  • Provide exceptional customer service by being courteous, respectful, and accommodating to passengers' needs and requests.
  • Keep accurate records of mileage, trips, and passenger information for billing and reporting purposes.

Qualifications:

  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to operate a wheelchair lift and secure passengers safely in a wheelchair van.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Compassionate and patient demeanor, especially when assisting passengers with mobility challenges.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Flexibility to work varied hours, including evenings and weekends, based on the needs of the business.
  • Knowledge of local roads and traffic patterns is a plus.
