Job DescriptionJob DescriptionA Team Home Services is looking to hire an experienced sheetrock installer to join our remodeling department As a Sheet Rocker, you play a critical role in the construction industry by applying and finishing drywall surfaces to create smooth, seamless walls and ceilings. Your expertise in preparing surfaces, applying joint compound, and sanding to achieve a flawless finish contributes to the overall aesthetic and functionality of the completed structure.

Responsibilities:
 
  • Study and interpret blueprints, sketches, or building plans to understand the specifications and dimensions of the structure. 
  • Measure, cut, and shape materials such as lumber, plywood, and other building materials according to the specifications outlined in the blueprints.
  • Assemble the structural framework of buildings, including walls, floors, ceilings, and roofs, using appropriate tools and techniques such as nailing, bolting, and screwing.
  • Install structural components such as beams, columns, and trusses, ensuring they are properly aligned, leveled, and securely fastened.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and your teammates. 
  • Inspect completed framing work to ensure it meets quality standards and specifications. Make any necessary adjustments or repairs to ensure structural integrity and alignment.
  • Work closely with other tradesmen, including carpenters, roofers, and other contractors, to coordinate tasks and ensure smooth progress of the construction project.
  • Properly maintain and care for tools and equipment used in the framing process, ensuring they are in good working condition and ready for use when needed.

Qualifications:
  • Prior experience in framing or carpentry is required, with the ability to read and follow construction plans.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Completion of a carpentry apprenticeship program or equivalent on-the-job training.
  • Proficiency in using a variety of hand and power tools.
  • Knowledge of construction and safety regulations.
  • Strong mathematical and measurement skills.
  • Attention to detail and precision in work.
  • Physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy materials.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Valid driver's license 
  • Heavy lifting of at least 55 lbs
  • Provide 3 references
Pay rate:
  •  $15-$25 hourly
