Material Handler

Our client is part of a team of life science companies who are developing products that are paving the way in the fight to save lives.

If you are looking for an opportunity to contribute your skills and knowledge, our client is looking for a "self-motivated" Material Handler.

In this role you will ship, receive, package, count and route material, complete associated paperwork and/or operate machinery such as forklift, pallet jack, etc.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate shipping and receiving and material handling transactions
• Responsible for assigned picking inventory and packaging.
• Route packaging materials to proper departments
• Instruct and/or assist in preparing merchandise for shipment
• Maintain necessary records and files of transactions, verifying accuracy of shipments against bills of lading, invoices or other records on Oracle or other systems
• Sets up locations in ERP and resolve purchase order receiving discrepancies and receiving discrepancies w/ planner-buyer
• Arranges stock to best advantage for efficiency and accessibility
• Adheres to all safety rules and may use forklift and other material moving tools and moving machinery
• Deliver product from receiving to the appropriate destination
• Expedite internal material requirements, transferring inventory to multiple locations including MRB
• Setup material presentations in the cells utilizing DBS tools
• Performs inventories; physically perform and transact cycle counts of materials
• Reconcile bad counts with assistance from Senior Material Handler

Salary: $DOE/ hr (long term contract)

Schedule: 36hrs, (3-12hr shifts, Fri-Sat-Sun)

Location: Coralville IA

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent w/ 0-2 years of previous working experience as a material handler
• Previous experience working in shipping department
• Previous experience working in a warehouse
• Ability to work weekends 12 hour shifts
• Previous experience operating a Forklift -Preferred
• Knowledge and experience w/ MS Word and Excel
• Ability to work w/ minimal direction or supervision after training
• Team player
• Candidates must successfully pass pre-employment background and drugscreen
