We are a fast-growing commercial landscape construction company looking for a motivated individual to join our talented, long-tenured team.

Your duties will be to oversee and coordinate Safety for all our Oregon and Washington locations. You will report to the Chief Operating Officer. Some travel will be expected as you will spend time between our corporate office in Hillsboro, OR, our offices in Redmond, WA, and Kent, WA, as well as spending time in the field. We anticipate that you will work out of the Kent, WA, office.

This position requires at least 3 years of experience working in Commercial Construction or a related field.  The ideal candidate is energetic, has strong people skills, has solid technical skills, and is a quick learner. You will work closely with Construction, Maintenance, Corporate, and other areas of the company.

Responsibilities and Duties to include, but are not limited to the following: 

  • Conducts jobsite audits ensuring compliance with internal, federal and state regulations in Washington and Oregon.
  • Initiate, coordinate, and direct training specific to the job hazard analysis.
  • Manage the jobsite orientation process pertaining to safety and obtaining/reviewing appropriate  documents as well as new hire safety orientations.
  • Assist in conducting accident investigations according to internal procedures by obtaining required reports from employee(s) and implementing corrective actions as needed.
  • Assist in interpreting, analyzing, and preparing documentation concerning reports, contracts, and site-specific information, including OSHA 300 reports.
  • Able to communicate and enforce company safety standards to all related parties involved in a job.
  • Coordinate with General Contractors regarding customer policies and jobsite requirements
  • Ensure that adequate, properly trained personnel are available to carry out required functions safely on all current and prospective projects.
  • Management of workers’ compensation (WA and OR) claims.
  • Assist in furthering the safety education of all staff members of the staff by formal classes, seminars, workshops, and sharing information company-wide.
  • Monitor site safety communication to maintain training effectiveness such as signage, toolbox meetings, etc.
  • Assist in editing and updating SDS and MSDS reference books and OSHA reports.
  • Ensure all required postings are on-site and kept updated consistent with regulations.
  • Track and renew employee field training and certifications.
  • Schedule training to minimize impact on productivity.
  • Empower all employees to make safety their first priority.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3 years of construction safety experience
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
  • First Aid/CPR Certification
  • Current OSHA 30 certification
  • Fall Protection Certification        

Associate Safety Professional (ASP) or Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or working towards them

Commitment to continual development and renewal of required certifications

Working knowledge of Federal and State regulations

Ability to read, comprehend, and recognize safety standards and issues

Able to teach and certify our field crews in safety and equipment operation

Technology skills consistent with generating safety reports, data analysis, and communications

Maintain a valid Driver’s License

Ability to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen.
