Job Summary:

Under the direction of the Service Manager or a journeyman,or Electrical Service Technician, an Electrical Service apprentice performs skilled work in the diagnosing systems, labeling, preventative maintenance on special systems, networks, copper cabling, fiber cabling and equipment on commercial and industrial projects. Duties include working with tools, installing self-supporting cable pathways, cabling, fiber splice terminations, Cat 6 terminations, relay panels, labor activities as assigned. Must keep all materials, tools, and equipment in an orderly fashion, always maintain a clean work area, demonstrate safe work habits, and exhibit proper care of all tools and equipment. Assignments are received from, and the work is performed under the general supervision of a journeyman Low Voltage Technician.
While construction experience is not required, we expect candidates to have some familiarity with hand and power tools. You must be able to follow directions, climb heights, travel, and be willing to help with any aspect of a project.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Clean and adjust Cameras
- Determine deficiencies in special systems
- Install and terminate cable.
- Layout and install cable.
- Install, replace, and repair low voltage devices such as jacks and terminations under supervision of journeyman Low Voltage technician
- Install and terminate access control panels, intrusion panels, and control relays under supervision of journeyman Low Voltage technician
- Preparation, handling, and supplying of materials and tools be used by Low Voltage trades.
- Maintain tools, vehicles, and equipment and keep parts and supplies in order.
- Load / unload equipment and material.
- Maintaining a clean and organized work area, tools, and equipment
- Stage materials and equipment.
Electrical Service Apprentice Requirements and Qualifications:
- Education: Must have a High school diploma or GED certificate
- Must be an indentured apprentice & enrolled in an apprenticeship program.
- Experience with reading blueprints preferable.
- Construction or low voltage experience a plus.
- Skills with basic hand and power tools.
- Physical stamina.
- Reliable transportation.
- Willingness to learn.
- Flexible to travel.
