Primary purpose: Install tile backsplash and/or repair tiled showers and tiled flooring

Duties and Responsibilities include:

• Punctuality: Arrive to work on time every day, ensuring a reliable and consistent presence.
• Communication: Communicate openly and clearly with the supervisor, providing updates on progress and addressing any concerns promptly.
• Paperwork Review: Review installation paperwork in detail to understand the scope of each job, including tile material, layout, and grout color.
• Layout Planning: Methodically plan tile backsplash and fireplace layouts to ensure aesthetic appeal and alignment with design paperwork and customer expectations.
• Installation: Install tile backsplashes in new construction residential homes and remodel homes. Install fireplace tile surrounds in both new construction and remodel settings.
• Grouting: Grout tile backsplashes and fireplaces with a focus on quality and precision.
• Warranty Work: As part of warranty work, delicately remove tile and/or waterproofing materials (kerdi, ditra) using hand tools.
• Repairs: Repair tile showers and tile floors as part of warranty work, performing grout touch-up work as needed.
• Equipment Expertise: Expertly use tile setting tools safely, adjusting equipment to ensure optimal performance.
• Feedback Collaboration: Accept feedback from the Installation Supervisor and Project Managers, working collaboratively to find solutions.
• Job Site Inspection: Inspect job sites, assessing rooms and conditions to determine the appropriateness of tile for a given location.
• Customer Interaction: Interact with customers and sub-contractors in a friendly manner, addressing questions and concerns professionally.
• Training: Attend product knowledge and installation training sessions organized by the Installation Supervisor or third-party vendors.
• Documentation: Complete required documentation, such as updating Trello daily, according to services performed or required.
• Vehicle Maintenance: Keep the vehicle clean at all times and attend scheduled meetings.
• Apprentice Guidance: Guide and teach tile apprentices about the trade daily while on job sites.
• Accountability: Be accountable for paperwork, ensuring it is kept clean, dry, and neat.
• Positive Attitude: Maintain a positive attitude, contributing to a positive work environment.
• Other Duties: Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned.

• Waterproofing Expertise: Experience with Schluter trims and various waterproofing techniques, including Schluter.
