Development Pit Crew

General Summary: Reports to Pit Coach. Attends Pit Crew Practices, based on a schedule provided by Pit Coach Manager to train for various pit crew roles.
Principle Duties & Responsibilities:
Attends required Strength and Conditioning sessions
- Required to attend all pit practices as assigned
- Learn and understand all positions to become a NASCAR Pit Crew member.
- Sets up Pit Crew Practice which may include cleaning wheels, lugs, gluing wheels, driving car, and all car prep associated with pit practice.
- Assumes any responsibilities delegated by the Pit Department Staff.
- Travel as needed to various races as determined by the Pit Department.
Education and Work Experience:
High School Diploma is required, and bachelor’s degree helpful. Mechanical aptitude is desirable.
Specialized Knowledge and Skills:
Basic understanding of how a NASCAR Pit Shop works. Ability to get along with and adapt to different types of personalities. Able to communicate well and follow directions.
Work Environment and Physical Demands:
Able to work on Pit Cars, which may include lifting up to 85 pounds, bending, squatting, and crawling may be required. Work environment includes moving vehicles, hot metal, fumes, extreme heat, noise, and power tools.
