POSITION: Assistant Technical Director

LOCATION: New Orleans, LA

HOURS: This is a Full-Time position with evening, weekend, and holiday hours.

COMPENSATION: $40,000/year

ABOUT THE POSITION

The Assistant Technical Director will assist the Technical Director in overseeing and coordinating various technical aspects of theatre productions and events. You will be responsible for providing support in the planning, execution, and maintenance of all technical elements necessary to ensure the smooth operation of the theatres and successful events.

PEOPLE, PLACES, and THINGS

  • The Mahalia Jackson Theater is home to the New Orleans Opera and New Orleans Ballet, and hosts numerous other events through the year. The Saenger Theatre is a fully restored 1927 movie palace that hosts the Broadway in New Orleans series, as well as a wide variety of concerts, comedy, and family shows.
  • The ATD works with other departments to provide coordination between events/shows and the venue staff.
  • This position will split time between our two New Orleans theaters.
  • The successful applicant will have excellent computer literacy, especially with Microsoft Office applications.

EXPERIENCE and SKILLS

  • Experience in large scale theater and live production management to include audio, lighting, rigging and A/V.
  • Familiar with stage lighting systems, especially ETC consoles and networks,
  • Experience with professional audio equipment and practices.
  • Experience working with IATSE crews is beneficial.

COMPETENCIES
