Job Summary:


We are seeking a highly skilled Chief Engineer to lead our team.


The Chief Engineer is a dynamic crane expert that understands the market, crane design, fabrication, customers, process, and our team members. This position ensures that we are designing and fabricating cranes optimally while achieving world class quality standards.


Responsibilities:

  • Establish standardized methods of designing cranes
  • Develop a continuous improvement environment in crane design and fabrication
  • Learn, utilize, and implement continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean, TOC, 6s, APICS, & 80/20
  • Assist in developing and sustaining an onboarding/training program
  • Ensure work instructions and operating procedures are up to date and being utilized
  • Utilize “Stamp” knowledge to provide technical support on complex crane designs
  • Ensure the modernization of the functionality of our products
  • Identify and implement automated solutions throughout the process (design, management, fabrication, etc.)
  • Utilize “Stamp” knowledge to audit complex jobs to ensure accuracy, standardization, and identify ways to improve our process or costs.
  • Assist in the development and execution of policies, procedures, protocols, and controls.
  • Utilize “Stamp” knowledge to develop accurate allocation standards of costs, material, labor, and time required for projects.
  • Approve designs & budgets of complex jobs.
  • Assist in developing systems that automate data collection.
  • Any other responsibilities assigned by the Director of Engineering

Additional Training to be provided:

  • Quality management system training (as needed)


Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Professional Engineer Certification (PE), CA
  • 10+ Years of crane design experience
  • Working knowledge of metal fabrication processes and material selection
  • CAD experience with efficient handling of large featured assemblies
  • In depth understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing
  • Use of CMAA Specifications & Requirements
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Software

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree Required


Work Environment

  • Able to work in an office for extensive periods of time
  • Able to travel regularly to work site/traverse work floor
  • Able to lift up to 50 pounds

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

  • This is a full-time position; typical work hours and days are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m.
