Summary/Objective: A Bindery Machines Operator is responsible for performing the bindery function as noted on a work order/job ticket which may include folding, cutting, padding, numbering, GBC punching, spiral or coil binding, fastback, collating, scoring, perforating, drilling, stitching or stapling, laminating and wrapping.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Establishes priorities by dates on work orders and by priorities set by management.
  2. Packages jobs, completes tickets/work orders and delivery receipts as necessary and places in designated areas for shipping.
  3. Keeps equipment clean, lubricated and monitors for needed service.
  4. Rejects poor quality or incorrect jobs and notifies management.
  5. Works with other staff members to ensure customer satisfaction and service expectations are met.
  6. Complies with all OSHA safety requirements.

Education: Must have a HS or GED diploma


Experience: At least 6 months experience including:

  • Knowledge of printing production/operation;
  • Ability to work with digital files and equipment

Licenses/Certifications Required: None


Supervisory Responsibilities: This position has no supervisory responsibilities.


Work Environment: This job operates in a professional office environment which routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, telephones, and photocopiers.


Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Must be able to lift 80 lbs and work with power tools/equipment.
