Primary Responsibilities:

As a Design Technician at TSP, you will assist in the design and development of projects, produce design presentation material, and will assist in the production of construction documents. The ideal candidate is highly proficient in architectural drafting, incorporating Building Information Modeling (BIM), highly organized, and effective in time management. A solid understanding of general construction methods and experience in creating comprehensive construction documents are essential. A passion for learning new technologies and leveraging design technology for improved design, communication, and efficiency is highly valued. Specific Duties:

  • Prepare detailed architectural drawings, renderings, and three-dimensional computer models using the Revit/Enscape platform and other design software such as Lumion, AutoCad, Sketchup, Rhino, etc.
  • Participate in field verification of existing facilities to translate as-built information to backgrounds for further evaluation.
  • Assist in the creation of presentation materials for client meetings and design reviews.
  • Assist in the development of documents for bidding and construction.
  • Assist with coordination of information with other project disciplines and consultants.
  • Assist with review and evaluation of submittals during construction and creation of respective documentation.
  • Assist with on-site review of progress during construction.
  • Evaluate, select, and apply company architectural design standards, procedures, and criteria, using judgment in making adaptations and modifications to documents with the guidance of an Architect.
  • Stay current with industry trends, materials, construction and documentation technologies.

Education/Experience Requirements:

  • Minimum 2-year degree in Architecture or Drafting related field
  • 3+ years of experience in Architectural office or building and construction related field
  • Proficient in REVIT
  • Preferred candidates will also have a working knowledge of AutoCAD, Sketch Up, Photoshop, and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience and understanding in assembling a complete set of bidding and construction documents for projects valued at $250,000 and upwards
  • Exhibit a working knowledge of construction materials and assemblies, standard construction methods, application of listed software to produce the required deliverables, and understanding of how building codes apply to content produced.

Work Environment/Physical Requirements:

This position operates in an office environment, regularly working in indoor conditions and on a computer. The noise level is usually moderate. This job entails sitting and collaborating with team members and stakeholders, along with communicating via phone/video. Occasionally, the employee may need to stand, walk, and lift/move objects weighing up to 20 pounds. Some overnight travel may be required.
