- Assist skilled workers, such as welders, carpenters, and machinists, by performing supportive tasks as directed.
- Handle and transport materials and equipment safely to various locations within the shipyard, ensuring the right materials are available when needed.
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the work areas, including sweeping, disposing of debris, and organizing tools and materials.
- Operate basic hand and power tools with proper safety precautions.
- Collaborate effectively with other team members to accomplish daily tasks efficiently and safely.
- Comply with all safety guidelines and procedures to maintain a safe working environment, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Assist in loading and unloading materials, checking deliveries for accuracy, and reporting discrepancies.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a laborer role, preferably in an industrial or maritime environment, is advantageous but not necessary.
- Physical stamina to perform labor-intensive tasks and work in varying weather conditions.
- Basic understanding of tool and equipment safety.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills, with a willingness to learn and take direction from skilled professionals.
