INTRODUCTION TO ROLE

The Groundskeeping Supervisor is responsible for supervising the work activities of grounds staff, and also performing the work themselves. They will ensure clean, orderly, and visually appealing grounds and surrounding areas. Assigns duties, inspects work, investigates complaints regarding groundskeeping and equipment, and takes corrective action. They are responsible for the daily upkeep of the property, buildings, and grounds.

WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON

  • Responsible for the daily upkeep of the property buildings and grounds
  • Operate vehicles and powered equipment, such as mowers, tractors, chain saws, electric clippers, sod cutters, and pruning saws.
  • Assigns workers their duties and inspects work for conformance to prescribed standards.
  • Performs ground duties.
  • Examines resort property to determine the need for repairs, replacement, or ground attention and makes recommendations to management.
  • Issues supplies and equipment to workers.
  • Ensure the property is clean, orderly, well-manicured, and always guest-ready
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Provides regular and reliable attendance.
WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH

The Groundskeeper will report to the Maintenance Supervisor.

  • The ability to work in a fast pace, exterior environment.


PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit. The employee frequently must squat, stoop, or kneel, reach above the head, and reach forward. The employee continuously uses hand strength to grasp tools and climbs onto ladders. The employee will frequently bend or twist the neck and trunk more than the average person while performing the duties of this job.
